Lost and found early work

Currently I’m in the middle of moving and while sorting out things I found a large box of really early work I didn’t know that still exists. Here are a few samples, more in the coming weeks and months. The last picture is of an early version of my book, i redrew everything later but before, i made this handbound edition of it.

These are some concept pages of a comic I’ve been developing for nearly a year now. Currently I’m redrawing the script and work on the charakter designs and such things. The first two pages have been sold, which is insane, people seem to really enjoy this comic/concept.

Terminus and the other stuff

2 years ago i finished chapter one, after that i drew “terminus” 22 pages for one month only with pencil on tea stained paper. I can’t believe it’s been that long…

Last july i came up with another idea for a projcet and did some drawings, a whole script etc. but left it on my unfinished business pile because of other stuff. i will start working on it again this winter but here is a sketch of the main character.

Technically, it’s based on comic layout but i will use only very little text and the story is very “philosophical” “dreamlike” and “transzendental”. The yet to be named main character wanders through enchanted sourroundings to find pieces of crystal. He tries to find out why he is excisting. What he is, whom he meets and else.

Parts of the story, as of terminus will make it in different ways in to my main book. But as for the whole story, i have to sit down and start drawing.

Currently I am busy packing my stuff into boxes, I’m moving to Vienna very soon. I went through the large pile of material from my first book, because I want to take everything with me and I also wanted to clean out some stuff. I found some really interesting pages, here is a glimpse of some stuff which didn’t make it, sketches and other things.

This is one of 3 abandoned pages, I redrew all 3 of them. i wasn’t happy with the overall composition of the work and also the text frame wasn’t suiting at all.

This is a very, very early page. I imagined a mirror with this bodies floating around and some pendulum thing in the middle. The background should be fire and clouds circling around in a spiral to the center. I redrew that image but changed the composition completely.

This is also very early, where I aimed at a simpler, more compact design.

This is a sketch of the 2nd Version of the Hell picture. I redrew that once and in this stadium I redid the left side of the picture.

The Zodiac/Anima picture in composition state. At that time I wanted to draw something ovalistic but dumped the idea of using a charakter in the middle of the picture (as you can see it in the sketch) Later I used the Makrokosmos Picture and incorporated it in a oval form and put the zodiac around it.

This is dated March 2008 and I worked on the order of the 12 main pictures in the book. At that time I was nearly a year away from finishing it and just 2 months away from my 3rd redraw of the book. I changed a lot of it later and the names were just for me and not to be used publicly.
